Arctic Riders Snowmobile Club receives $3,500 MAT funding for Kelly Park welcome sign in Smooth Rock Falls
The Arctic Riders Snowmobile Club received $3,500 in Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) funding to support fabrication of a welcome sign at Kelly Park, the Town of Smooth Rock Falls said Oct. 6, 2026.
The funding and sign are part of the town’s MAT program and are intended to welcome residents and visitors, particularly people travelling through Smooth Rock Falls by snowmobile, according to a bilingual poster released with the announcement.
In its online post, the town said the money will support fabrication of the welcome sign at Kelly Park.
The poster describes the sign as a “welcoming gateway for winter visitors.” It says council approved the MAT funding and that the project is intended to welcome residents and visitors, “particularly those travelling through Smooth Rock Falls by snowmobile.”
The town said local volunteers and local craftspeople were involved in bringing the project to life.
The town did not say when the sign was made or installed.
