Boil Water Advisory Issued for Highway 11 Corridor in Black River-Matheson

The Ontario Clean Water Agency issued a boil water advisory on July 23, 2025, affecting residents along the Highway 11 corridor in Black River-Matheson. The advisory instructs households and businesses in the area to boil tap water before using it for drinking, cooking, washing food, brushing teeth, or making ice.

According to the Ontario Clean Water Agency, residents in the affected area should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for any of the purposes outlined in the advisory. The notice indicates that residents may use bottled water or properly boiled water for food preparation, beverages, and oral hygiene. Storing boiled water in the refrigerator and maintaining normal hygiene practices during the advisory period is also advised by the agency.

The advisory refers residents to the Porcupine Health Unit for further guidance and information. The Township of Black River-Matheson states that updates and additional details about the advisory will be available on its official website as new information becomes available.
