Canada Recalls Polaris and 509 Helmets Over Safety Concerns
The Government of Canada has announced a recall of certain Polaris and 509 Tactical 3.0 helmets due to potential impact hazards. This recall affects Youth, Mountain, and Trail versions of these helmets available in various sizes.
The helmets have been found not to comply with essential certification standards required to provide adequate protection in case of a crash. This defect poses a risk of head injury, according to the manufacturer, 509. Health Canada advises consumers to immediately discontinue the use of these products and contact either 509 or Polaris for a refund or replacement.
Further actions recommended by authorities include avoiding any redistribution, sale, or donation of the recalled helmets within Canada to mitigate safety risks.
