Canada to Impose Tariffs on U.S. Goods in Trade Dispute Response

On February 2, 2025, the Government of Canada announced its strategy to implement tariffs on U.S. imports following the introduction of new U.S. tariffs on Canadian products. The Canadian government plans to impose a 25% tariff on designated U.S. goods, totaling $155 billion in imports.

The Department of Finance Canada has outlined this measure, starting with tariffs on $30 billion worth of products, including beverages and paper goods, effective February 4, 2025.
