Statistics Canada reports an increase in payroll employment across Canada with 26,800 additional jobs in January 2025, marking a slight rise of 0.1% from December.
Sector Highlights
Significant growth was observed in educational services, which added 26,200 positions, reflecting a 1.8% increase. The retail trade sector also expanded, with the addition of 9,800 jobs, a 0.5% rise. In health care and social assistance, a growth of 7,300 jobs, or 0.3%, was noted.
