Certain 2-litre Farmers, Québon and Natrel milk recalled over possible glass pieces

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalled several 2-litre Farmers, Québon and Natrel milk products on March 25 because they may contain pieces of glass.

For shoppers in Northeast Ontario, the agency listed one affected product as being distributed nationally, meaning it could have been sold locally. The other recalled products were listed for distribution in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, or in Quebec.

The CFIA said people can identify the recalled cartons by checking the brand and product name, the UPC, and the “best before” code printed on the package. In the agency’s list of affected products, the time field shown as “HH:MM” varies by package.

The CFIA said people should not consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute the recalled products. The agency said recalled products should be thrown out or returned to where they were purchased.

The CFIA said the company triggered the recall and that Agropur is the recalling firm. The agency said it is conducting a food safety investigation that may lead to other products being recalled, and it is verifying that recalled products are being removed from the marketplace.

The recall is classified as Class 1. The CFIA identification number is RA-81793.
