Certain Crackers Recalled Due to Undeclared Egg in Ingredients

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for certain brands of fish and shrimp crackers due to the presence of undeclared egg in the ingredients. The affected products are Getas Fish Crackers (ZMC Bangka brand, 250 g, code 260210) and Ny.Siok Shrimp Crackers (Ny.Siok brand, 500 g, UPC 8 995177 600011, with expiry dates of July 4, 2026, and January 2, 2026, and manufacturing codes MF E020325 and MF E020225). This announcement was published on August 1, 2025.

The CFIA stated that the products were distributed in British Columbia. The recall was triggered after agency testing found that egg was not declared on the labels. According to the CFIA, consuming these products could cause serious or life-threatening reactions in people who are allergic to egg.

No allergic reactions related to these products have been reported as of the time of the recall. The company responsible for recalling the products is H&G Tan Enterprises Inc.

The CFIA is continuing their food safety investigation and has stated that more products could be recalled if further risks are identified. The agency is also verifying that the recalled products are being removed from store shelves. This recall is classified as Class 1, meaning it poses a serious health risk to people with egg allergies.

The recalled products fall under the category of snacks and confectionery. The CFIA recommends that anyone allergic or sensitive to egg check their homes for these products and avoid consuming them.

For more information, the CFIA directs the public to their website for recall updates and detailed explanations of their food safety process.
