CFIA issues Class 1 recall of Maison Gabriel Coulet Roquefort - La Cave slices for Listeria risk in Ontario, Quebec
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a Class 1 recall on Oct. 16, 2025, for Maison Gabriel Coulet Roquefort - La Cave - Slice - Wedge (100 g) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination, covering products distributed in Ontario and Quebec. No illnesses had been reported as of Oct. 16, the agency said.
According to the agency, food contaminated with Listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can still cause illness. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, older adults and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk. The CFIA notes that infection during pregnancy can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or stillbirth, and severe cases can be fatal.
The recalled product can be identified as: Maison Gabriel Coulet Roquefort - La Cave - Slice - Wedge, 100 g, UPC 8 22775 00337 2, lot 80825, best-before 2025 NO 03.
CFIA advises consumers not to consume, use, sell, serve or distribute the recalled product. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the place of purchase, and consumers should check for recalled packages. Anyone who thinks they became sick after consuming the product should contact a healthcare provider.
CFIA said the recall was triggered by its test results. The agency is conducting a food safety investigation that may lead to additional recalls and is verifying that industry is removing the product from the marketplace.
The recalling firm is 9314-8591 Québec Inc. The notice was published as a Food recall warning in the Food – Dairy category on Oct. 16, 2025, and is identified as RA-78307 (CFIA ID 16836).
