CFIA Issues Recall for Habibi Pistachio Kernels Due to Salmonella Risk

Habibi brand Pistachio Kernel has been recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination, according to a notice from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued on August 13, 2025. The recall affects product distributed in Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia.

The CFIA states that the recall applies to hotels, restaurants, institutions, and manufacturers.

According to the agency, the recall involves 10 kg packages of Habibi Pistachio Kernel, with UPC 70847446000626, lot number 344.24IR41, and a best before date of January 2027. The recalling firm is Green Farm Pistachio Inc. The affected product falls in the food category of nuts, grains, and seeds. CFIA has classified this recall as Class 2.

The CFIA advises not to use, sell, serve, or distribute the affected pistachio kernels.
