CFIA recall notice covers eight brands of poultry deli meat over off odour, off taste
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall notice for certain poultry deli meat products sold under eight brand names because of “off odour and off taste.” The recall date is March 20, 2026, and the agency’s notice was last updated April 2.
The products were distributed nationally, meaning they may be in homes and stores across Northeast Ontario. The CFIA’s notice applies to packaged poultry deli meats sold under the Compliments, Your Fresh Market, Selection, Ziggy’s, Royal, Lilydale, Sysco and Brickman’s brands.
The CFIA’s instruction is that the affected products should not be used, sold, served or distributed.
According to the recall notice, the affected items include smoked turkey breast, cooked turkey breast, oven roasted turkey, and chicken breast products. The list also includes a Sysco “ham, beef and turkey” multi-pack.
The CFIA listed the following product types and sizes by brand in its notice:
- Brickman’s: smoked turkey breast (500 g)
- Compliments: turkey and chicken deli meat products (175 g and variable size)
- Lilydale: cooked turkey breast and oven roasted seasoned chicken breast (500 g)
- Royal: turkey and chicken deli meat products (175 g and 600 g)
- Selection: cooked turkey breast (400 g) and cooked turkey roast (variable size)
- Sysco: extra lean smoked turkey breast (500 g) and a ham, beef and turkey multi-pack (500 g)
- Your Fresh Market: turkey and chicken deli meat products (175 g and 2 x 300 g)
- Ziggy’s: turkey and chicken deli meat products (175 g, 600 g and variable size)
The CFIA notice includes specific UPCs and product codes for each affected item. The identification number for the alert is RA-81838.
The recalling firm is Sofina Foods Inc., according to the CFIA. The agency classified the recall as Class 3.
