CFIA recalls Aqua Gems Tempura Shrimp in Ontario over undeclared egg

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall of Aqua Gems brand Tempura Shrimp due to an undeclared egg allergen, with distribution listed in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario. The recall date is Aug. 7, 2026; the CFIA posted the public alert on Aug. 13, 2026.

The notice may be relevant to shoppers in Northeast Ontario because the product was distributed in Ontario and the CFIA said it should not be used or served. The agency’s alert is aimed at retail distribution.

The CFIA said people should not use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product.

The recalled product is Aqua Gems Tempura Shrimp in a 454 g package, with UPC 8 13983 02039 8.

The codes listed are Lot no. 535T/KD. 2025 and Best Before 2027 AU 09.

AZ Gems Canada Inc., doing business as Select Source Seafood, is listed as the recalling firm.

The CFIA identification number for the recall is RA-82483, classified as Class 2.

The CFIA page lists the brand as “Agua Gems” in one section and “Aqua Gems” in the affected products table. The alert was last updated Aug. 13, 2026, according to the CFIA.
