CFIA recalls Ashoka Masala Paneer Kathi Roll over undeclared sesame
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has recalled Ashoka brand Masala Paneer Kathi Roll due to undeclared sesame, according to a notice posted Oct. 7. The agency said the recall applies to product distributed in Alberta and British Columbia, and it is instructing retail outlets as well as hotels, restaurants and institutions not to use, sell, serve or distribute the affected item.
The recall notice includes product details that shoppers and food businesses can use to check whether they have the affected package.
According to the CFIA, the recalled item is Ashoka Masala Paneer Kathi Roll sold in a 200 g package. The UPC listed in the notice is 8 901552 017909.
The CFIA said the affected codes are Best before: 2027 MR 25 and B.NO.: 25 C V.
Nutrifresh West Ltd. is listed as the recalling firm. The CFIA has classified the recall as Class 2 and assigned it identification number RA-82738. The recall date is listed as Oct. 5, 2026.
In its notice, the CFIA lists the issue type as Food – Allergen – Sesame seeds and describes the alert/recall type as a notification.
