CFIA recalls Chongqing Hot and Sour Sauce for undeclared peanut

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a food recall warning on July 10, 2026, for Chongqing Hot and Sour Sauce because it contains peanut that is not declared on the label.

The CFIA said people with peanut allergies or sensitivities could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they eat the product.

The recalled product is sold in 228 g jars with UPC 6 930777 200980. The recall covers all codes where peanut is not declared on the label.

The product was distributed in Ontario, British Columbia and Quebec.

Canada Royal View Trading Inc. is listed as the recalling firm.

The CFIA said the recall was triggered by a consumer complaint and that one reaction has been reported.

The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. The CFIA is also verifying that industry is removing the recalled product from the marketplace.

The CFIA advised people who are allergic or sensitive to peanut not to consume the recalled product. The agency also said the product should not be served, used, sold or distributed.

The CFIA says recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.

The recall is classified as Class 2 under identification number RA-82317.
