CFIA Recalls Co-op White Tray Buns in Winnipeg for Undeclared Milk Allergen

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has recalled Co-op brand White Tray Buns sold at three Red River Co-op Food Stores in Winnipeg, Manitoba, because they may contain milk that is not declared on the label. The recall affects 12-pack White Tray Buns with UPC 0 057316 191915, sold up to and including September 10, 2025, at the following locations: 1120 Grant Ave., 850 Dakota St., and 77 Vermillion Rd.

According to the CFIA, the recall was prompted by a consumer complaint, and there has been one reported reaction linked to consuming the product. The agency advises that people who are allergic or sensitive to milk should not eat the recalled buns.

Affected products should be thrown out or returned to the place of purchase, as stated by the CFIA. The agency is conducting a food safety investigation, which may result in further recalls. The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing the recalled products from stores. The recall has been classified as Class 1.

The CFIA says the recall is limited to stores in Manitoba. As of September 12, 2025, no distribution outside the province has been reported.
