CFIA recalls El Mexicano instant horchata drink in Ontario over undeclared milk
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has recalled El Mexicano brand Agua Fresca de Horchata Instant Horchata Drink in Ontario because milk is not properly declared on the label. The agency lists the recall date as May 7, 2026, and the notice was published May 20.
The CFIA describes the issue as “Food – Allergen – Milk” and says the notice is intended for the retail sector in Ontario.
The affected product is El Mexicano Agua Fresca de Horchata Instant Horchata Drink in a 340 g package. The UPC is 0 42743 19020 4.
The recall applies to “all codes where milk is not properly declared on the label,” the CFIA said.
The CFIA warns people not to use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product.
The recalling firms are 13381706 Canada Inc. and Terragusto Products Inc., according to the CFIA.
The CFIA classified the recall as Class 2. The identification number for the notice is RA-82089.
