CFIA recalls Momchipz Veggie Chips sold online in Ontario due to undeclared gluten

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a food recall warning for Momchipz Veggie Chips (Broccoli Florets & Cauliflower) sold online in Ontario because the product contains gluten that is not declared on the label.

The recall matters for people who must avoid gluten, including those with celiac disease or other gluten-related disorders. The CFIA says eating the recalled product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction for those individuals.

The affected product is Momchipz Veggie Chips (Broccoli Florets & Cauliflower) in an 85 g package with UPC 6 28634 44216 6 and best before date Aug. 31, 2026.

Exotique Foods Inc. is listed as the recalling firm.

According to the CFIA, the recall was triggered by a consumer complaint. The agency also reported one reaction associated with consuming the product.

The CFIA said it is conducting a food safety investigation that may lead to the recall of other products. The agency said it is also verifying that the recalled product is being removed from the marketplace.

In its notice, the CFIA told consumers not to serve, use, sell or distribute the recalled product, and said recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.

The recall is listed as Class 2 under identification number RA-82462.
