CFIA recalls Nora’s Mint Chip non-dairy frozen dessert for undeclared peanut
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a food recall warning on Oct. 8, 2026, for Nora’s Mint Chip Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert after tests found it contains undeclared peanut; the 500 mL product has UPC 6 27843 81424 5 and code TG-BF093T with BBD:03APR2028, and it was distributed in Ontario as well as Alberta and British Columbia.
The CFIA warns that people who are allergic or sensitive to peanut could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume the recalled product. The agency reported no reactions associated with consumption of the product.
The affected item is sold as Nora’s brand Mint Chip Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert in a 500 mL container. The product identifiers listed in the recall are UPC 6 27843 81424 5, code TG-BF093T and BBD:03APR2028.
Distribution listed in the recall includes Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario, and possibly other provinces and territories.
The CFIA said the recall was triggered by its test results. Nora’s Non-Dairy Ltd. is listed as the recalling firm.
The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation that may lead to the recall of other products and is verifying that the recalled product is being removed from the marketplace.
The CFIA classified the recall as Class 1 and assigned identification number RA-82637.
The agency advises people to check for the recalled product, and says recalled products should not be served, used, sold or distributed. The CFIA says the product should be thrown out or returned to the location where it was purchased.
