CFIA recalls Samjin frozen fish cake for undeclared egg, gluten and milk

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a food recall warning for Samjin brand Frozen Fish Cake (with Sauce & Shrimp) because it may contain egg, gluten and milk that are not declared on the label. The warning was published May 8, 2026, and the product was distributed nationally.

For people with allergies or sensitivities, undeclared ingredients can pose a serious health risk. CFIA warns that anyone allergic or sensitive to egg, gluten or milk should not consume the recalled product, and it also warns people with celiac disease or other gluten-related disorders not to consume it.

The affected product is Samjin (brand shown in Korean characters only) Frozen Fish Cake (with Sauce & Shrimp), sold in a 550 g package with UPC 8 809872 450898.

The CFIA notice lists the affected codes as: “All codes where egg, gluten and milk are not declared on the label.”

CFIA testing triggered the recall. No reactions have been reported, according to CFIA.

The recalling firm is Seoul Trading Corp., according to the CFIA notice.

CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation that may lead to the recall of other products. CFIA is verifying that industry is removing the recalled product from the marketplace.

CFIA advises people not to serve, use, sell or distribute the recalled product. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.

The notice lists the recall as Class 1 with identification number RA-81812.
