CFIA recalls Summerhill Market frozen raspberries and related products sold in Toronto, York and Aurora over possible norovirus

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a food recall warning for certain Summerhill Market brand frozen raspberries and raspberry-containing products sold in Ontario, citing possible norovirus contamination. The notice was last updated Sept. 29, 2026, and applies to products sold from July 29, 2026, up to and including Sept. 15, 2026.

The recall may affect Northeast Ontario residents who travelled to the Greater Toronto Area during the summer or who received these products from friends or family. CFIA says norovirus can cause gastroenteritis symptoms and advises people to check their freezers for the affected products.

Shoppers who bought the products during the affected dates can check the product name, size and UPC code.

Recalled products:

  • Summerhill Market Frozen Raspberries (800 g) — UPC 0 56647 15698 3
  • Summerhill Market Frozen Berry Mix (900 g) — UPC 0 56647 15706 5
  • Summerhill Market Frozen Smoothie Mix (900 g) — UPC 0 56647 15705 8
  • Protein Power Pod Raspberry (135 g) — UPC 0 56647 16430 8 (brand listed as “None” by CFIA)

According to the CFIA, the products were sold at Summerhill Market locations at 446 Summerhill Ave., 484 Eglinton Ave. W., 1054 Mount Pleasant Rd. and 1014 Bathurst St. in Toronto.

The CFIA said the products were also sold at 3609 Dundas St. W. in York, Ont., and 32 Wellington St. W. in Aurora.

CFIA advises people not to consume, use, sell, serve or distribute the recalled products, and to throw them out or return them to the store where they were purchased.

The agency said the recall was triggered by CFIA findings during its investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak. The CFIA said there have been no reported illnesses associated with consumption of these products.

According to the CFIA, people with norovirus illness usually develop symptoms within 24 to 48 hours, though symptoms can start as early as 12 hours after exposure. The CFIA lists the main symptoms as diarrhea, vomiting, nausea and stomach cramps.

The CFIA lists the recall as Class 2 with identification number RA-82692. Summerhill Market is the recalling firm.
