CFIA recalls Tasty shredded carrots and carrot muffin batter in Ontario over possible wood pieces
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled two Tasty brand food-service products distributed in Ontario over possible pieces of wood, with a recall date of April 24, 2026. The affected items are Tasty IQF Carrots Fine Shredded and Tasty Carrot Muffin Batter.
The agency said the products were distributed to hotels, restaurants and institutions. CFIA advised that the recalled products should not be consumed, used, sold, served or distributed.
The recalled shredded carrot product is Tasty IQF Carrots Fine Shredded in 10 kg packages with UPC 6 955241 566119. Affected lot: 260128C0101 (production date Jan. 28, 2026).
The second recalled item is Tasty Carrot Muffin Batter in 12 kg packages with UPC 871706001529. Identifiers: Code 20550 / Lot 08526.
CFIA categorized the issue as “Food – Extraneous Material,” and listed the recall class as Class 3.
Olympic Wholesale Inc. is the recalling firm. The recall identification number is RA-81981, according to the CFIA notice.
