CFIA recalls unbranded 5 kg boneless chicken thighs sold in Ontario and Nova Scotia
Unbranded 5 kg packages of Boneless Chicken Thighs distributed in Ontario and Nova Scotia have been recalled because of semicarbazide, according to a Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) recall notice. The CFIA lists the recall date as Feb. 12, 2026, and names Les Viandes Bernard Centrale Inc. as the recalling firm.
The notice applies to both retail customers and food service settings such as hotels, restaurants and institutions. The CFIA advised consumers and businesses not to use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product.
The CFIA describes the issue as “Food - Chemical - Contamination.” The product is listed as Boneless Chicken Thighs with no brand name.
The affected product is sold in a 5 kg size, and the CFIA listing shows no UPC.
