CFIA warns Smarter Snacks Vegan Protein Puff Chili & Lime contains undeclared milk
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a food safety warning on Sept. 26 for Smarter Snacks brand Vegan Protein Puff Chili & Lime Flavored, saying the product contains milk that is not declared on the label.
The warning applies to people with milk allergies or sensitivities. The CFIA said consuming the affected product could cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.
The affected product is Smarter Snacks Vegan Protein Puff Chili & Lime Flavored in a 50 g package. The UPC is 8 684041 306837 and the codes are 05/05/2026 and SS 125 L1.
The CFIA listed distribution as national and online.
No reactions have been reported, according to the CFIA.
The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation and said the work may lead to the recall of this or other products.
The alert is classified as Class 1 and has identification number RA-82689.
