Cochrane council to hold Feb. 19 special meeting on Official Plan review

Cochrane town council will hold a special meeting on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at Town Hall, 171 Fourth Ave., to discuss an ongoing review of the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Area Official Plan.

The Official Plan sets out policies for how the area should grow and how land should be used. The town’s notice says the meeting is part of a review process under Ontario’s Planning Act.

According to the notice, the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board is working with the Town of Cochrane on the review and update. The plan applies to all lands within the planning area.

The town’s notice says the review will look at current land-use planning policies and whether updates are needed to match local and provincial goals and objectives. It will also consider planning issues that affect the community.

The meeting is scheduled for Feb. 19 at Town Hall, 171 Fourth Ave., Cochrane.

The town said the meeting will also be livestreamed on its website through Council Cast.

The notice says minutes and a recording of the meeting will be posted on the town’s website afterward.
