Cochrane minor-variance notice for June 10 lists two different start times

Cochrane’s Committee of Adjustment is scheduled to consider a minor variance application for 1521 Concession 4 & 5 on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Town Hall, 171 Fourth Avenue, Cochrane, Ontario, but the town’s posted notice lists two different start times: 7:00 p.m. at the top of the notice and 6:30 p.m., local time, later in the document.

The application would change two zoning requirements for a proposed accessory building on the property, including how close it can be built to the front yard and how tall it can be.

The file number is A04-2026, and the owner is listed as F. Charron.

The application requests a minor variance under Section 45 of Ontario’s Planning Act from Town of Cochrane Zoning By-law 968-2013, as amended.

The property is in the Agricultural (AG) Zone, and the notice describes the primary use of the lands as residential.

The application seeks to reduce the front yard setback for the proposed accessory structure to 4 metres from 15 metres, which the bylaw requires in the Agricultural (AG) Zone.

It also seeks to increase the maximum height for an accessory structure to 6.12 metres from 6 metres. The bylaw sets a 6-metre maximum height for accessory structures in the Agricultural (AG) Zone.

The notice says a location map is provided with the posted material.
