Cochrane moves July 1 waste and recycling pickup to July 2 for Canada Day closure

Cochrane’s curbside waste and recycling pickup scheduled for Canada Day, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, will be collected the next day, Thursday, July 2, the town said in a public notice dated June 30.

The change affects residents whose pickup would normally fall on July 1 and comes because the Town of Cochrane’s Infrastructure Services will be closed on Canada Day.

In its notice, the town said garbage collection normally scheduled for Wednesday, July 1 will take place Thursday, July 2.

The town said recycling collection normally scheduled for Wednesday, July 1 will also move to Thursday, July 2.

For the rescheduled collection day, the town said residents should place bins at the end of their driveways and keep them at least two feet apart.
