Cochrane Planning Board Approves Consent Application for Fifth Street Property

The Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board has approved a consent application for the property located at 185 Fifth Street. The application, submitted by Thomas and Sophie Hautot, was reviewed under Section 53 of the Planning Act of Ontario. The decision was made after considering the Planning Report dated May 5, 2024, correspondence received, and information presented at the hearing on June 19, 2024.

The approval is subject to several conditions that must be fulfilled within two years:

  • The applicant must meet all municipal requirements, financial or otherwise.
  • A reference plan must be completed and filed with the Town Clerk, or an exemption must be received from the Land Registry Office.
  • The lands to be severed must be merged under the same ownership as the abutting lands, and specific subsections of Section 50 of the Planning Act will apply to any subsequent conveyance.

If these conditions are met within the specified timeframe, the Secretary-Treasurer is authorized to provide a certificate as outlined in Subsection 53(42) of the Planning Act. The last day for appeal is July 11, 2024. Additional information is available at Town Hall during regular office hours.
