Cochrane planning board sets Dec. 10 hearing on two Brower Township lot severances
The Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 171 Fourth Avenue, Cochrane, to consider two consent applications (B2025-12 and B2025-13) to sever land in Brower Township.
The applications, filed under Section 53 of Ontario’s Planning Act, seek approval to create two new lots with frontage on Brower 4 Concession and Cornel Road. Residents may provide input at the hearing. Registration is required by Monday, Dec. 8 to receive participation options, including electronic attendance.
The owner listed on the applications is C. Jansen-Quirt. The lands are legally described as South Part Lot 7, Concession 4, Brower, and North Part Lot 7, Concession 4, Brower Township, within the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board area (Roll Nos. 5640 120 000 11500 0000; 5640 120 000 11600 0000; and 5640 120 000 11501 0000).
Application B2025-12 proposes a new lot of approximately 16.15 hectares (39.91 acres) with about 206 metres (675.85 feet) of frontage on Brower 4 Concession.
Application B2025-13 proposes a new lot of approximately 26.41 hectares (65.26 acres) with about 161 metres (528.21 feet) of frontage on Cornel Road. The retained parcel would be approximately 48.59 hectares (120.06 acres) with about 584 metres (1,916.01 feet) of frontage on Brower 4 Concession.
Those who want to be notified of the Board’s decision must submit a written request to the Board.
The Ontario Land Tribunal may dismiss an appeal if the appellant did not make written submissions to the Board before it gives or refuses provisional consent.
