Cochrane planning board to hear June 10 severance request for part of 2307 Highway 652

The Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board will hold a public hearing Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Cochrane Town Hall on an application to sever part of the vacant property at 2307 Highway 652 to create a new lot.

The proposal outlines how the land could be divided and used if the board grants provisional consent, including the size and highway frontage of both the new lot and the remaining parcel.

According to the public notice from the Town of Cochrane, the application (B01-2026) lists the owners as K. Dumont and J. Mageau.

The application seeks provisional consent to sever a portion of the property to create a new lot proposed for industrial use. The new lot would be about 3.2 hectares and would have about 160 metres of frontage on Highway 652.

The remaining land would be about 56.6 hectares with about 345 metres of frontage on Highway 652 and is proposed for residential use.

New access is subject to approval by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, the notice states.

After the hearing, the planning board will decide whether to grant provisional consent for the severance.
