Cochrane planning board to hold Feb. 19 special meeting on official plan review
A special meeting of the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at the Town of Cochrane council chambers at Town Hall, 171 Fourth Avenue, to discuss revisions that may be needed as part of the review and update of the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Area Official Plan.
The official plan sets policies for how the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Area should grow and how land in the planning area should be used. The review and update is examining existing land-use policies, how they match local and provincial planning objectives, and planning issues that affect the community.
The plan under review covers all lands within the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Area, according to the notice.
The meeting is being held under Section 26(3) of Ontario’s Planning Act.
Residents can also watch the meeting via livestream on the Town of Cochrane’s website, the notice says.
