Cochrane Restructures Organization for Strategic Alignment

The Town of Cochrane is implementing a redesign of its organizational structure to better align with its strategic goals and service needs. This decision follows an evaluation conducted by a municipal reorganizational specialist, as initiated by Cochrane’s Council in early 2024.

A significant change in this restructure is the introduction of a General Manager/Deputy CAO position, which will oversee several critical service areas. The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) will continue to manage key departments, maintaining a focus on strategic priorities and community engagement.

The town is actively recruiting for senior staff positions due to current vacancies and anticipated retirements. This recruitment effort is part of a broader Workforce Restoration Initiative aimed at enhancing teamwork and providing growth opportunities within the organization.

According to Mayor Peter Politis, the restructure is intended to realign responsibilities to better serve the community. This initiative reflects the town's efforts to streamline services and improve internal communication.
