Cochrane Schedules August 12 Public Meeting for Proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment
The Town of Cochrane has announced in an official public notice that a meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. to consider a proposed amendment to Zoning By-law 968-2013. The meeting will take place in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 171 Fourth Avenue, and will address Zoning By-law Amendment ZBA-2025-03 for the property at 243 Concession 6&7 – Lot 26, Concession 7, Glackmeyer.
According to the Town’s notice, residents wishing to participate are asked to submit a written request to the Land Use Planner by noon on August 12, 2025. The meeting will also be available via live stream on the Town’s website for those unable to attend in person. The process is being conducted under Section 34 of the Planning Act, as stated by the Town in its notice.
As outlined in the notice, written and oral submissions about the proposal will be included in the meeting record, along with the names and addresses of those who submit comments, as required under the Planning Act. The Town advises that the minutes, copies of written submissions, and a recording will be posted online following the meeting.
The right to appeal any decision made by Council regarding this amendment is limited to the applicant, the property owner, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, certain specified persons under the Planning Act, or public bodies with an interest in the matter. Anyone who wishes to be notified of the decision must submit a written request as described in the official notice.
