Cochrane schedules Sept. 28–Oct. 28, 2026 replacement of Concession 6&7 (Lillabelle Lake) Bridge; no through access

The Concession 6&7 Bridge, also known as the Lillabelle Lake Bridge, is scheduled to be replaced from Monday, Sept. 28 to Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, and through access will not be permitted at the bridge during the work, according to the Town of Cochrane.

The bridge is currently closed due to structural concerns; the town posted its replacement notice on Sept. 23, 2026. The closure and construction schedule affect travel routes in the area for about a month.

The Town of Cochrane said the existing bridge will be replaced with a wider structure designed to safely accommodate farm equipment and other vehicles without ongoing traffic restrictions.

The work will include removal of the existing bridge, installation of the new structure, and restoration of the approaches and surrounding roadway.

Residents within the construction zone will have access to their properties at all times, and access for emergency vehicles will be maintained, the town said.
