Cochrane Water Treatment Maintenance Affects Water Hardness
The Town of Cochrane has announced that the lime system at the Water Treatment Plant is currently undergoing maintenance. This maintenance may result in an increase in water hardness for residents. According to the Infrastructure Services, the water remains safe for consumption despite the change in hardness. Hard water, which contains naturally occurring minerals, does not pose a health risk but can cause spots on dishes and fixtures. Residents are advised to hand wash or towel dry dishes after using the dishwasher to minimize spotting. For those already experiencing spots, soaking dishes in white vinegar for 5 to 10 minutes is recommended. For further inquiries, residents can contact the Infrastructure Services department at 705-272-5086.
