Durham Region Transit Adds Electric Buses to Fleet

Durham Region Transit (DRT) has added six electric buses to its fleet as part of the E-Mission Zero program. This initiative is aimed at achieving zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2037 through a sustainable network of vehicles, infrastructure, and facilities.

The introduction of these electric buses is a step in DRT's plan to transition to a full fleet of zero-emission buses. This move will help DRT evaluate and plan for future expansions of their electric fleet.

The E-Mission Zero program is a part of DRT's efforts to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainability in its transit operations. The new buses will provide insights into the operational and infrastructure needs for a broader implementation of zero-emission vehicles.
