Emergency water service repair set for Commercial Avenue in Timmins on July 14, 2026
An emergency water service repair is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, 2026, on Commercial Avenue between Rea Street South and Cameron Street South in Timmins, with work planned from 8 a.m. to noon, according to the City of Timmins Environmental Services Department.
The city says people in that stretch of Timmins South could notice short-term changes to their water service during the work, including lower water pressure and discoloured water.
The Environmental Services Department says homeowners and businesses in the area may experience a temporary loss of water pressure or may see brown or rust-coloured water during the disruption.
If the water is brown or rust-coloured, the city advises residents not to drink it and not to use it for laundry.
The city says the discoloured water is not harmful to health, but it can stain laundry.
If discoloured water appears, the city says residents should turn off their tap for 10 to 20 minutes to allow the crew to finish the work.
Once the repair is completed, the city advises residents to run the cold-water tap closest to the source—usually a laundry tub tap—for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the water returns to its normal colour.
