Emergency watermain repair in South Porcupine’s Connaught Hill on Dec. 1, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
The City of Timmins’ Environmental Services Department will repair an emergency watermain break in South Porcupine’s Connaught Hill on Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., affecting Dunn Ave. between Allan St. and Tisdale St., and Tisdale St. between Smith and Station streets.
Residents and businesses in the area may experience low water pressure, short-term loss of water, or brown or rust-coloured water during the work.
The city advises residents not to drink discoloured water or use it for laundry. The notice states the discolouration is not harmful to health, but it can stain fabrics.
If water becomes discoloured while crews are working, Environmental Services recommends turning off the tap for 10–20 minutes to allow the work to continue.
After the repair, the city advises running the cold-water tap closest to where water enters the home—usually a laundry tub tap—for about 15–20 minutes, or until the water runs clear.
The notice does not state the cause of the break.
The notice, titled “Watermain Break Repair – Environmental Services – December 1, 2025,” was posted on the city’s website at 8:31 a.m. on Dec. 1.
Recent posts on the city’s website list earlier emergency watermain break notices on Nov. 28, Nov. 21 and Nov. 20, and on Oct. 28 and Oct. 27. The archive also includes similar advisories on Oct. 10, Oct. 1 and Aug. 14.
