Emergency watermain repair set for Fourth Avenue in Schumacher on Feb. 13, 2026
City of Timmins Environmental Services says it will carry out an emergency watermain break repair in Schumacher on Feb. 13, 2026, affecting Fourth Avenue from Ponderosa to Veterans between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The city says homeowners and businesses in the area may see short-term water service changes during the work, including a temporary loss of water, reduced pressure, or tap water that appears brown or rust-coloured.
The city recommends residents not drink discoloured water or use it for laundry. The city says discoloured water is not harmful to health, but it can stain laundry.
If discoloured water occurs during the repair, the city advises residents to turn off their tap for 10 to 20 minutes to allow the crew to finish.
After the repair is completed, the city advises residents to run the cold-water tap closest to the source—usually a laundry tub tap—for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the water returns to its normal colour.
