Emergency Watermain Repair Underway in Schumacher

Residents in the Gold Centre area of Schumacher are advised of an emergency watermain repair currently underway. The City of Timmins has announced that the repair work began immediately and is expected to be completed by late evening on December 19, 2024.

During this period, homeowners from Ponderosa Street through Gold Centre may experience a temporary loss of water, reduced water pressure, or discolored water. The repair is anticipated to last approximately 3-4 hours.

The City of Timmins Environmental Services Department advises residents not to consume or use discolored water for laundry, as it may stain clothing, although it poses no health risk. Once the repairs are finished, residents are encouraged to run the cold water tap closest to the source for about 15-20 minutes or until the water clears.
