EQAO Releases 2023–2024 Assessment Results
The Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) has published the results of the 2023–2024 assessments for students in Ontario. The assessments cover reading, writing, and mathematics for students in Grade 3, Grade 6, and Grade 9.
Grade 3 Results
- Reading: 71% of Grade 3 students met the provincial standard in reading, a decrease from 73% in 2022–2023.
- Writing: 67% of Grade 3 students met the provincial standard in writing, a slight decrease from 68% in 2022–2023.
- Mathematics: 74% of Grade 3 students met the provincial standard in mathematics, an increase from 70% in 2022–2023.
Grade 6 Results
- Reading: 97% of Grade 6 students met the provincial standard in reading, unchanged from the previous year.
- Writing: 87% of Grade 6 students met the provincial standard in writing, a decrease from 88% in 2022–2023.
- Mathematics: 54% of Grade 6 students met the provincial standard in mathematics, an increase from 52% in 2022–2023.
Grade 9 Results
- Mathematics: 54% of Grade 9 students met the provincial standard in mathematics, unchanged from the previous year.
The EQAO assessments are designed to measure students' knowledge and skills as outlined in The Ontario Curriculum. The data provides insights into student achievement and helps inform educational strategies across the province.
