Evans Street in Timmins set for full closure Aug. 18, 2026, for bridge girder installation

Evans Street in Timmins will be fully closed Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for bridge girder installation as part of the Evans Street bridge replacement project, according to a City of Timmins notice. The closure will cover Evans Street from north of Station Street to south of Laffin Crescent.

The temporary shutdown is expected to affect through traffic on Evans Street during the mid-day period, while allowing emergency access and local driveway access, the city’s notice states.

The city’s notice says the posted closure window may vary.

Emergency services will have access through the area during the closure.

Local residential driveway access will be maintained on Evans Street during the closure.

The Aug. 18 closure is the first of two planned shutdowns needed to install the bridge girders. A second full closure is anticipated for February 2027; details will be announced separately, according to the notice.

The notice was posted on the City of Timmins website on Aug. 17, 2026.
