Expiry Review Initiated for Structural Tubing from Korea and Türkiye

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal has initiated an expiry review regarding its order from October 16, 2019, concerning structural tubing imported from the Republic of Korea and Türkiye. The review aims to assess whether the expiry of this order could lead to continued or resumed dumping of these products and whether such actions might cause injury to the domestic industry.

The Canada Border Services Agency is expected to provide a determination by February 6, 2025, on the likelihood of resumed or continued dumping. Should the determination be positive, the Tribunal will then decide by July 16, 2025, if this dumping is likely to result in injury to the domestic industry.

The Tribunal operates as an independent quasi-judicial body that reports to Parliament through the Minister of Finance. It handles cases related to dumped and subsidized imports, safeguard complaints, federal government procurement issues, and appeals regarding customs and excise tax rulings. Additionally, the Tribunal offers advice on economic, trade, and tariff matters when requested by the federal government.

Individuals, associations, or governments interested in participating in the expiry review can do so by submitting a Notice of Participation through the Tribunal's official channels.
