FedNor Invests $80,000 in Ontario Culture Days for Northern Ontario Tourism
The Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario (FedNor) has announced an $80,000 investment in Ontario Culture Days to support the tourism industry in the Algoma region and Northern Ontario. The funding aims to help establish northern Festival Hubs and develop marketing and implementation plans, as well as an online toolkit for event organizers. This initiative is expected to boost international tourism and enhance experiences at events in locations such as Manitoulin Island, Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, Temiskaming, Greater Sudbury, and Timmins.
Ontario Culture Days is an annual festival celebrating arts, culture, and heritage across the province. The festival is free of charge and will take place from September 20 to October 13, 2024. The funds are provided through the Tourism Growth Program, a Government of Canada initiative that will deliver $108 million over three years to support local tourism products and experiences.
