Kapuskasing to host municipal election candidate information session May 5

Ontario’s Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing will hold an in-person municipal election candidate information session in Kapuskasing on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, starting at 6 p.m. The session is scheduled for the Civic Centre Auditorium at 88 Riverside Drive.

The session is aimed at people considering running in the 2026 municipal election and is open to participants across the Highway 11 corridor from Cochrane to Hearst.

A bilingual notice posted by the Town of Kapuskasing lists the topics to be covered as the roles and responsibilities of candidates, campaign rules and requirements, and guidelines for third-party advertising. The notice also says the session will include key information for municipal elections.
