Lakeridge Health Reports Attainment of Stage 6 Digital Record Certification

Lakeridge Health has reported it received Stage 6 certification from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM). The announcement was made by Lakeridge Health in Durham Region, Ontario.

The HIMSS EMRAM program is an international system that monitors hospitals' progress in putting electronic medical records in place. Stage 6 recognizes hospitals for incorporating electronic documentation, clinical decision support, and safety features into their patient care systems.

Lakeridge Health stated that the certification acknowledges its use of electronic records in hospital operations. The organization did not mention any immediate effects for healthcare facilities or residents in communities in Ontario's Northeast.
