LG Electric Ranges Recalled Due to Risk of Fire Hazard
LG Electronics Canada has issued a recall for certain models of slide-in and freestanding electric ranges due to a risk of unintended operation that could pose a fire hazard. The affected models include those with front-mounted knobs that may be turned on unwittingly by humans or pets.
The ranges, available in black and stainless steel, are 30 inches wide. According to LG Electronics Canada, there have been eight reported incidents, including two injuries in Canada—one involving a minor cut and another involving a minor burn.
Residents are encouraged to check their model numbers inside the oven door or on the storage drawer located at the bottom of the units. Those with affected models should contact LG Electronics for further instructions.
Customers are advised to verify their range details and reach out to the company if their model number matches those under recall.
