New Judicial Appointments Announced in Ontario
The Honourable Arif Virani, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, announced new judicial appointments in Ontario. This announcement was made as part of the judicial application process established in 2016, which aims to ensure transparency, merit, and diversity in the appointment of judges.
Appointments:
- Lisa A. Wannamaker has been appointed as a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario in Lindsay. She was previously an Assistant Crown Attorney at the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario in Peterborough.
- Linda A. Shin has been appointed as a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario in Toronto. She was formerly General Counsel at the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario, Criminal Law Division, in Toronto. Justice Shin replaces Justice B.A. Allen, who became a supernumerary judge effective November 4, 2022.
