NORAD to Track Santa's Flight on December 24

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) will track Santa Claus on December 24, 2024, continuing a tradition that has lasted 69 years. NORAD, a joint organization between the United States and Canada, is tasked with aerospace warning, aerospace control, and maritime warning for North America. This includes the continuous monitoring and defense of North American airspace.

On December 24, NORAD will engage in its annual mission to track Santa's flight as he delivers gifts worldwide. This is part of the NORAD Tracks Santa program, which has become a global event, engaging families across different countries. The program can be accessed through the NORAD Tracks Santa website, which offers interactive features such as a holiday countdown, games, and a movie theatre. The website supports multiple languages, including English, French, and Spanish.

The NORAD Tracks Santa app is available for download on Apple and Google Play stores. Updates on Santa's journey will also be shared on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, as well as on Amazon Alexa and SiriusXM. On December 24, individuals can call 1-877-HI-NORAD for live updates on Santa's location from 6 a.m. to midnight MST.

This program is supported by both Canadian and U.S. personnel, who use the same military aircraft, radars, and satellites employed for national defense to track Santa's progress. According to the Department of National Defence, this is a unique opportunity for the crews involved to interact with Santa during his global journey.
