Northern College Partners with BorderPass for International Student Support
Northern College in Timmins has announced a partnership with BorderPass to enhance support for international students. The collaboration aims to provide applicants and students with access to a digital platform and support services, including guidance from Canadian immigration lawyers, visa application assistance, housing support, and long-term planning for permanent residency.
The partnership is part of Northern College's strategy to improve student experiences and operational efficiency. It includes enhanced health insurance options with 24/7 multi-language support and access to a global network of healthcare facilities.
Northern College participated in a quality assurance audit to assess support structures for international students. The college's president, Mitch Dumas, emphasized the importance of sustainable growth and improving student experiences. BorderPass co-founder Sally Daub highlighted the local impact of the partnership, noting its role in attracting and retaining international students in northern communities.
