Open-air burning will be allowed again in Timmins at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, when the Timmins Fire Department lifts the city-wide fire ban declared July 17, 2026.

The fire department said the fire ban could be reinstated at any time if conditions change, meaning residents may face new restrictions if the situation shifts.

According to the city’s notice, the ban was declared July 17 because of a lack of precipitation and extremely dry conditions.

The notice said open-air burning can resume based on the current forecast.

The Timmins Fire Department urged residents never to leave a fire unattended.
