Parts of College Street, Airport Road and Theriault Boulevard to close Feb. 19, 2026, for emergency watermain repair in Timmins

College Street in Timmins’ north end will be closed between Airport Road and Westmount Boulevard on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., for an emergency watermain break repair.

The City of Timmins says the work will also close parts of Airport Road and Theriault Boulevard during the same period, and some nearby properties may see temporary changes to water service, including low pressure or discoloured water.

According to a notice from the city’s Environmental Services Department, Airport Road will be closed between Westmount Boulevard and University Street. Theriault Boulevard will be closed between Vimy Avenue and Airport Road.

The city says local traffic can access Theriault Boulevard from Vimy Avenue to reach the high schools, College Boreal and the Archie Dillon Sports Splex.

The Environmental Services Department said homeowners and businesses in the notification area — including Golden Manor — may experience short-term loss of water and pressure, or brown or rust-coloured water, during the disruption.

If water becomes discoloured, the city said residents should not drink it or use it to wash laundry. The city said the discoloured water is not harmful to health, but it can stain laundry.

If discoloured water occurs during the repair, the city advised turning off the tap for 10 to 20 minutes to allow crews to finish their work. Once repairs are complete, the city advised running the cold-water tap closest to the source — usually a laundry tub tap — for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the water returns to its normal colour.
